Susan's Going-Away Party

Susan started her journey back to the United States on March 12 (and made it safely the next day!). We had a get together at Fabianos for her, and so many people showed up, I'm pretty sure she was on her feet talking to people longer than she sat down to eat! It was great seeing so many folks show to send her off. Hopefully this new chapter in our lives will be good to our family.

Wishing Susan all the luck in the world - we miss you and love you!

sunday lunch

Sunday we were invited to a chili & cornbread lunch (with banana splits for dessert!) over at Craig & Lucy's house. They live up the hills a bit, and they have amazing views! I snapped a lot of photos over the afternoon, and we all had a good time talking, eating, and playing games.

I finally managed to figure out editing on Photoshop with a handful of free Actions I found. Sorry the editing isn't consistent, I'm still trying to figure out which Actions I like best. I do like how some of the photos have almost a film effect instead of digital.

happy birthday, me

Yesterday was my birthday - geez another one already! It really is amazing how quickly time goes the older I get, which is weird, since I don't really feel like I'm getting older, just the number changes. Susan orchestrated a semi-surprise get together at our friend Kathleen's house, though only a few of our friends could make it. Thanks to Kathleen, Bill, Tom, Karen, Randy, and of course my family, for the fun party, and everyone who wished me a happy birthday and making this birthday a pretty darn good one!

Right then - ready for the day! (I ended up having to change my tee to a white one because a certain black cat spilled water on me!)

catching up: from my window & kitties in my room

I can just see the mountains from my little third-floor window on clear days. In the past month I've taken many photos from that spot (and had a little fun editing them). My room has also become the cats' hang-out spot. I'm glad I got some good photos of little Bandido, because she had been sick for awhile, and unfortunately we had to put her down. She was such a sweet little furball, and will be so missed.
